Thrift store crochet booklet find

Not only is it the Granny Square… but it’s making stuffed animals out of granny squares. It screams 1970s (it’s from 1977)… plus it had a pattern cut from a 1971 Workbasket and another one from the newspaper.

Done…

sweater

The kid’s winter sweater is done… a few hours before closing ceremonies.  No photo of him in it… it fits but for some reason he didn’t want to wear the wool sweater in 85 degree weather…

Thrift Store Finds

norway sweater

Originally uploaded by swampcrone.

Found this sweater at Salvation Army last night. Cardigan knit in one piece, sleeves knit in the round. It’s marked “Handmade in Norway”.

There is a small hole in the back but I should be able to fix it.

Bad photo but hey, was too lazy to get out the camera so used the cam.

I’ve been slowly working away at the boy sweater

sweater

It’s not looking like much atm but getting close to attaching the top of the front pocket. Then later on I have to attach the bottom of the pocket to the “hem”

Paddock Chevrolet- bad neighbors clueless managers lawbreaking employees

Dear Paddock Chevrolet:

I realize that you currently have a financial hold upon the Village of Kenmore and that you think that you can get away with breaking the law. I saw breaking the law because EVERYDAY I watch your employees breaking the law. Have I mentioned the fact that your dealership while located technically on Delaware Avenue affects those of us living on the side streets?

Here are things that I am tired of calling your dealership and complaining about:

  • Employees speeding down our street. The speed limit is 30 mph- which due to the number of children I think is high, but that is a village issue. It’s not 45+ mph.
  • Employees constantly running stop signs. They are there for a reason. Stop at them. They are not optional.
  • Employees street racing down the street. It happens quite frequently

There are children and elderly people both living on this street. What happens when your employee hits one of them? Is that what is going to take to stop your employees from breaking the law? Is it going to take a child being seriously injured or being murdered by an employee for your dealership to take the neighborhood complaints seriously?

I am tired of being told that you will talk to employees. I doubt that you really are. From now on I will be registering complaints not only with your dealership, but with the village of Kenmore and on this blog.

The bag is done

I’m fairly happy with how the bag turned out. I used the base pattern for Angela’s Fabulous Felted Bag (ravelry linky) but did different stripings and added a handle. I also used size 13 needles.

I have no idea what the yarn was I used… it was coned stuff found in the attic.

There are a few technique issues that only I will notice, but overall I’m happy with it.
