Patsy Cline – Walkin’ After Midnight
It’s the goddess Patsy
After taking the usual 5 minute read of the Buffalo Snooze today I did my usual check of the New York Times (to really find out what’s going on in the world)- I found this interesting article on College Alumni Mags:
The advent of social networking Web sites has created a quandary for alumni magazines, which have been slow to embrace the Web.
An interesting article overall. My college newsletter is still print only, as it the rag from High School. But apparently there is an on-line feature of the college one which I haven’t explored (I supposed I could call them tomorrow to find out). But first a small rant:
Dear Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart:
How bloody difficult is it to check the website on various browsers. I’m sure it looks fine in the Piece of Shit know as Internet Explorer (do people actually *still* use it?). It looks fine in Firefox- but guess what- it looks like shit in Safari. Yes, I’m a bitchy mac user but guess what- can download Safari for windows. Can’t take a school seriously that can’t even have a working website.
Love, Me
On that note, did get the most recent Cordecho in the mail… yawns. Of course the one on the website is old… Hey, guess what, still waiting for an announcement in it regarding a classmate’s death. It was in the college newsletter… 2 years ago… but not the high school… what a way to show how much ya’ll care.
On a related rant- why the hell is there a sports hall of fame but not an arts hall of fame? I went to *one* volleyball game while at SHA (and that was because the JV coach of the other team was a camp counselor of mine)… I realize the musicals all pretty much sucked (hi, how sexist is having a bunch of teenage girls fawning over a guy)… but there have been people who have MADE CAREERS IN THE ARTS. I know one who is doing quite well as an artist- another who has been working as an actress… but I guess those of us who preferred to spend our time hanging out with the likes of Robert Longo and going to Artist and Models were too subversive vs. being all american jocks.
OK done ranting for now. Although thinking of writing up a fake update for my HS’s rag… just to see if they publish it.
